Job summary

Rising Edge Group is seeking a PSE/Electrician Apprentice to install and maintain high and low voltage equipment in a substation. You will gain hands-on experience with ground grids, structural steel erection, and repairing power system equipment, under the supervision of a Journeyman PSE/Electrician.

Requirements include being indentured in Electrical or PSE trade, knowledge of Alberta Electrical Utility Code, and a valid Alberta Class 5 license.

Qualifications

• Indentured into Electrical or PSE trade.
• Knowledge of the Alberta Electrical Utility Code (A.E.U.C) Safety Codes Act and OH&S rules as they relate to PSE/Electrician.
• Valid Alberta Provincial Class 5 driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Experience with Microsoft Windows, Office and computer-based test equipment would be an asset.
• Must meet pre-access Drug & Alcohol testing requirements.
• Must be able to work comfortably at heights.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain low and high voltage equipment in a substation.
• Assist with installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of power system equipment.
• Develop work scopes, procedures and perform routine repairs.
• Comply with safety practices and standards on all tasks.
• Work with Journeyman PSE/Electrician to install ground grids and power system equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and testing on substation equipment.
