Job summary

Rising Edge Group is seeking an Electrician Apprentice to assist with installing and maintaining low and high voltage equipment in substations. You’ll gain hands-on experience with ground grids, structural steel erection, and power system equipment under a Journeyman Electrician.

Training and safety are emphasized as you perform wiring, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance while supporting project teams on site in Canada.

Qualifications

Must be indentured in Electrical or PSE trade.
Knowledge of Electrical Utility Code and Safety rules.
Valid Provincial Class 5 driver’s license with clean record.
Experience with construction equipment is a plus.
Ability to meet pre-access Drug & Alcohol testing requirements.
Comfort working at heights.

Responsibilities

Assist with day-to-day substation construction activities.
Work with high voltage equipment including breakers, transformers, switches, P&C, SCADA, HMI, RTUs.
Install time-sensitive network and power cabling and document circuits.
Perform preventive maintenance and routine repairs on substation equipment.
Develop work scopes and procedures under supervision of Journeyman Electrician.
