Job summary

Rising Edge Group in Canada is seeking a Journeyperson Electrician to perform maintenance, upgrades and installation in 13.8kV to 500kV substations. You will read drawings, interpret electrical code specifications, plan layout, inspect systems and mentor apprentices.

This senior role requires leadership, extensive field experience in substations, compliance with safety regulations and ability to travel to remote sites. Local candidates with Alberta license preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid Power Systems Electrician Journeyperson certificate or Journeyperson Electrician certificate.
• Minimum 5 years as PSE/Electrician with at least 2 years in substations.
• Strong knowledge of Alberta Electrical Utility Code and safety rules.
• Valid Alberta class 5 driver’s license with clean record.
• Experience with Windows and Office; test equipment is an asset.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
• Must be comfortable working at heights.
• Willingness to travel out of town to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain 13.8kV to 500kV substations.
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and electrical code specs.
• Plan layout and wiring; supervise apprentices.
• Inspect high voltage systems and ensure compliance with codes.
• Lead substation equipment maintenance and testing.
• Mentor and train apprentices; lead safety practices.
