Job summary

Prince Edward County Public Schools is seeking a Substitute/ Substitue Teacher to enable each child to pursue education smoothly in the absence of the regular teacher. Location is Prince Edward School Division and reports to the Principal or Designee.

Position offers daily pay, with salary range noted as $115.00 to $140.00 per day. The applicant should be at least 18, possess a high school diploma, and agree to attend orientation on district policies.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintains the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom.
• Teaches the lessons outlined by the absent teacher.
• Consults with the principal or designee before initiating any teaching procedures.
• Reports, in writing, on the day’s activities at the end of each teaching day.
• Verifies attendance needs with the principal’s designee for the following day.
• Follows all policies, rules, and procedures.
• Covers duty assignments in the absence of the teacher when applicable.
• Reports to the school at the designated time.

Summary: To enable each child to pursue his or her education ascompletely and smoothly as possible in the absence ofthe regular teacher

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Maintains as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of theschool and classroom to which he or she is assigned


2. Teaches the lessons outlined and described in the Substitute Teacher's folder asprepared by the absent teacher


3. Consults with the principal or designee before initiating any teaching or otherprocedures not specified in the Substitute Teacher's folder


4. Reports, in writing, on the appropriate form provided by the school administration, on the day's activities at the conclusion of each teaching day


5. Verifies with the principal's designee that his or her attendance will or will not beneeded on the following teaching day


6. Follows all policies, rules, and procedures


7. Covers duty assignments in the absence of the teacher if applicable


8. Reports to school at the designated time

QUALIFICATIONS
