Job summary

Prince Edward County Public Schools is seeking a Substitute/ Substitue Teacher to enable each child to pursue education smoothly in the absence of the regular teacher. Location is Prince Edward School Division and reports to the Principal or Designee.

Position offers daily pay, with salary range noted as $115.00 to $140.00 per day. The applicant should be at least 18, possess a high school diploma, and agree to attend orientation on district policies.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Possess good moral character.
• Attend orientation session concerning school board policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom.
• Teaches the lessons outlined by the absent teacher.
• Consults with the principal or designee before initiating any teaching procedures.
• Reports, in writing, on the day’s activities at the end of each teaching day.
• Verifies attendance needs with the principal’s designee for the following day.
• Follows all policies, rules, and procedures.
• Covers duty assignments in the absence of the teacher when applicable.
• Reports to the school at the designated time.
