Job summary

Bird Construction seeks a student for a co-op position in Pickering, Ontario, starting September 2026. The role supports project coordination, field coordination, and scheduling across a Civil/Mechanical/Structural/Industrial engineering program, with a focus on collaboration, accuracy, and timely delivery.

You will assist in drawing coordination, field supervision, and progress tracking while gaining exposure to real-world construction workflows and client-focused outcomes.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in Civil, Mechanical, Structural, or Industrial Engineering program.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher and completion of at least one more semester.

• Update project schedules and create/maintain graphical schedules.
• Obtain scheduling information from sub-trades and monitor manpower productivity.

We are seeking a student to join us for a 4, 8 or 12 month co-op position starting in September 2026. This role is based out of Pickering, ON.

Project Coordination

• Coordinate drawings and work specific scope/trades.
• Review trade quotes, verify material quantities, hours, and rates.
• Participate in project meetings.
• Conduct deficiency walks and update deficiency logs.
• Issue warranties.
• Take and coordinate progress photos.
• Update field drawings and produce as-built drawings.

Field Coordination

• Perform quantity takeoffs.
• Coordinate sub-trade work.
