Job summary

Bird Construction seeks a Project Coordinator to support industrial project sites in Western Canada. The role focuses on coordinating schedules, shop drawings, materials, and cost tracking while maintaining safety and strong client relationships.

You will liaise with Owners, Consulting Engineers, and Subcontractors, and contribute to on-site safety initiatives, ensuring timely progress and quality across projects.

Qualifications

  • Undergrad degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Construction Eng is an asset.
  • 3+ years in civil, concrete, or earthworks with industrial clients.
  • Must hold a driver's license and operate a vehicle.
  • Must be able to work a 14 day on, 7 day off schedule in Western Canada.

  • Support preparation and execution of overall work plan and schedule.
  • Review and process shop drawings and coordinate material/equipment needs.
  • Prepare weekly productivity and cost tracking and change order estimates.
  • Ensure safety leadership and on-site safety program adherence.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and subcontractors.

Job description

Reporting to the Project Director, the Project Coordinator will be based on an Industrial project site. Ability to work a 14 day on, 7 day off schedule in Western Canada is required.

What You Will Be Working On
  • Assist with major construction projects, including liaison with Owners, Consulting Engineers and Subcontractors.
  • Support with the preparation and execution of overall work plan and schedule.
  • Review and process shop drawings.
  • Coordination of material and equipment needs.
  • Prepare weekly productivity and cost tracking.
  • Prepare cost estimates for change orders and audit purposes.
  • Price site instructions, work orders and change notices.
  • Assist with quality assurance and management of client expectations
  • Prepare monthly progress application and expedite payments.
  • Provide document turnover to client at completion of project.
  • Assist with maintenance of project files and preparation of reports.
  • Participate in on-site safety meetings and be a leader of initiatives.
  • Provide safety leadership through implementation of the Bird Safety Program and monitoring the safety performance of the project team and subcontractors.
  • Foster and maintain positive relations and communication with clients, consultants, architects, and subcontractors.
  • Build and manage business relationships.
What We Are Looking For
  • Undergraduate degree in a Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Construction Engineering considered an asset
  • 3+ or more years of work experience in civil, concrete, or earthworks projects with industrial clients required
  • Highly motivated and able to complete assignments with minimal direct supervision.
  • Knowledge of standard health, safety, and environmental requirements and practices in the construction industry
  • Drivers license and able to operate a motor vehicle required.
  • Ability to work a 14 day on, 7 day off schedule in Western Canada
  • Flexible and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously; meet the time demands of unpredictable activities; capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment
  • Effective and efficient problem solving and decision-making skills; thoughtful, proactive and creative
