Job summary

Hatch Ltd. in Canada seeks a dynamic Structural Engineering Trainee to join the Engineering Delivery, Structural group.

You will support the analysis and design of structures for hydropower, dam, and heavy industrial settings from the Niagara Falls office, reporting to the Structural Discipline Lead Engineer. You will work on projects globally, applying engineering principles, preparing reports, and learning codes and software.

Qualifications

Must be graduating in 2027 or recently graduated with a Master’s or Ph.D. in Structural Engineering.
Strong academic performance with extracurricular/community involvement.
Coursework in Structural Analysis, Structural Mechanics, Reinforced Concrete/Structural Steel Design, Foundation Design.
Graduate with relevant co-op or internships in structural engineering.

Responsibilities

Apply engineering principles to perform structural analysis and design for industrial buildings and foundations.
Collaborate with senior engineers and Hatch groups to review results.
Prepare calculation reports and engineering documents for stakeholders.
Become knowledgeable of structural software, codes, workflows, and system designs.
Participate in office/site safety trainings and inductions as needed.
Willingness and ability to travel to other Hatch offices or project sites as opportunities arise.
