Hatch is hiring a Structural Engineering Trainee in Mississauga, ON for new graduates ready to apply Civil Engineering knowledge to heavy industrial structures. You will work under the Structural Discipline Lead Engineer, supporting projects globally from the Mississauga office.

You will gain experience with structural analysis, design calculation reports, and software tools while pursuing professional designation and mentoring. Local travel to project sites may be required.

Qualificações

  • Must be working towards graduating in 2027 or recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with specialization in Structural Engineering or Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering.
  • Academic excellence with extracurricular/community involvement.
  • Courses in Structural Analysis, Structural Mechanics, Reinforced Concrete Design, Structural Steel Design, Foundation Design.

Responsabilidades

  • Apply engineering principles to perform calculations for structural analysis and design of industrial building and equipment support structures and foundations.
  • Collaborate with senior team members to review results and support documentation.
  • Prepare calculation reports for engineering documents used by stakeholders.
  • Develop knowledge of structural software, codes, and workflows.
  • Participate in safety training and site inductions as needed.

The Project Delivery Group at Hatch is seeking a Structural Engineering Trainee, new graduate with interest in structural analysis and design of heavy industrial building and equipment structures and foundation systems. Responsibilities:
  • Work independentlytoapply engineering principles toperformcalculations forstructuralanalysisand designof industrialbuilding and equipment support structures and foundations
  • Workcollaboratively to share the results of yourworkwith senior members of thedisciplineand / or otherHatchgroups
  • Preparecalculation reports to support the results ofyour analysisand design,to be checked by senior colleagues and used tosupportengineeringdocumentsto beusedby internal and external stakeholders
  • Becomeknowledgeableofstructural analytical software and tools, building codes and material design codes,discipline workflows and execution, process building and equipment structureand foundationsystems, and other industrial components / processesyou are assigned toassess
  • Participate inoffice and sitesafety training andinductions as needed to supportoffice andsite activities
  • Willingness and ability to travel and work in other Hatch offices orproject work sites (including remote sites) as needs and opportunities arise
Education and Experience:
  • Must be working towards graduating in 2027, or recently graduated, with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with specialization in Structural Engineering or Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering
  • Excel academically while being actively involved in extra-curricular and/or volunteer activities at school or in the community
  • Preferred academic coursesincludeStructuralAnalysis, Structural Mechanics,ReinforcedConcreteDesign,Structural Steel Design, Foundation Design
  • Preferred advanced courses includeStructural Dynamics,Finite Element Analysis, Seismic Design
  • Previousrelevantcoopandsummer work terms or internships in structural engineeringis an asset
  • Academic or work experience withstructural software SAP2000 and/orSTAADPro,MathCAD, and BentleyMicroStationCAD software is an asset

Compensation:

Range: $81,000 - $84,000

At Hatch, we are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. In accordance with legislated pay transparency requirements, the expected salary range for this position is based on current market data and aligned with internal pay structures to ensure consistency and fairness.

Your individual compensation within this range will depend on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications and location. In addition to base pay, our total rewards package may include performance-based incentives, comprehensive benefits, and other programs designed to support your well-being and growth.
