Qualifications

  • Graduating in 2027 or recently graduated in Bachelor’s or Master’s Civil Engineering from a recognized engineering program at an accredited University.
  • Demonstrated coursework, research, and/or work experience in hydrotechnical engineering topics, including open-channel hydraulics and statistical hydrology.
  • Proficiency in GIS, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
  • Experience using hydrotechnical software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, or similar platforms will be considered an asset.
  • Dedicated team player with strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct hydrology and hydraulics analyses, calculations, and computer simulations using spreadsheets or discipline-specific software packages.
  • Support the preparation of technical reports, drawings, specifications, and correspondence.
  • Assist with development of proposals and presentations for clients.
  • Conduct field visits to client sites (if required).

Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Hydrotechnical Engineering Trainee new graduate to join our Niagara Falls, ON office. Hydrotechnical Engineering is a branch of Civil Engineering that focuses on the study, design, and management of water resources.

As part of the Hydrotechnical team, you will be assigned to project teams to assist experienced engineers with technical analyses and designs related to civil engineering hydraulics, hydrology, and water resources management and planning.

As the successful candidate, you will:

Compensation:

Range: $80,000 - $87,000

Your individual compensation within this range will depend on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications and location.
