Job summary

Hatch is seeking a dynamic Structural Engineering Trainee, new graduate, to join the Engineering Delivery, Structural group in the Niagara Falls office. You will assist in the analysis and design of structures for hydropower, dam, and heavy industrial settings, reporting to the Structural Discipline Lead Engineer.

You will support projects globally while based in Niagara Falls, with opportunities to travel to other Hatch sites.

Qualifications

Candidate must be graduating in 2027 or recently graduated with a Master’s or PhD in Structural Engineering.
Academic excellence with involvement in extracurricular or community activities.
Recommended courses include Structural Analysis, Structural Mechanics, Reinforced Concrete Design, Structural Steel Design, Foundation Design.
Knowledge of structural software such as SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, ANSYS, LS-DYNA, Abaqus, CAD, MathCAD is an asset.

Responsibilities

Work independently to apply engineering principles to perform calculations for structural analysis and design of industrial buildings and equipment supports and foundations.
Collaborate with senior discipline members and other Hatch groups to share results.
Prepare calculation reports and engineering documents for internal and external stakeholders.
Become knowledgeable of structural analytical software, building codes, material design codes, workflows, and structure foundations.
Travel to other Hatch offices or project sites as needed.
