Overview

The Krahn Group of Companies is a full-service multi-discipline engineering firm specializing in commercial, industrial and residential development design. Over the past 35 years, we have established a reputation for excellence in Alberta, British Columbia, and other Canadian provinces by providing the most innovative, comprehensive and cost-effective solutions to clients. Krahn Engineering is seeking an Intermediate Structural Engineer to join our Structural Division in Edmonton, AB. This position will play a key role in structural design and calculations, preparing drawings and construction services.

Responsibilities
  • Perform structural analysis and design for a variety of municipal, residential, commercial, and industrial projects, including existing buildings and structures
  • Complete structural calculations and prepare and edit structural specifications
  • Review engineering design for compliance with established codes, standards, and specifications; provide technical support to designers and drafters
  • Prepare reports and other technical documentation as required by the client
  • Communicate with clients, vendors, and contractors
  • Support senior staff with inter-discipline coordination, project reporting, and structural analysis and design
  • Provide general project coordination services
  • Coordinate with technical staff in preparation of contract drawings and documents and other work tasks
  • Coordinate structural designs and documents with other disciplines (Architectural, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Landscaping, etc.)
  • Provide structural engineering support during construction, attend site meetings, and carry out field reviews
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • P.Eng or registered as an EIT
  • Degree in Structural Engineering
  • Minimum 3-5 years of related work experience
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter and team player
  • A valid driver's license
