Job summary

GTR Worldwide is seeking a Purchasing professional to manage product selection and supplier relations, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with sales and inventory goals. You will analyze market trends, negotiate contracts, and maintain stock levels to support merchandising and promotions.

The role requires experience in retail procurement, ERP systems, and strong data analysis and communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in business, commerce, supply chain, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least two years of purchasing, procurement, or merchandising experience in a retail or wholesale environment.
• Experience using inventory management, procurement, or ERP software and proficiency with spreadsheet tools.
• Demonstrated negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships and contracts.
• Ability to analyze sales, margin, and market data to inform purchasing decisions and optimize assortments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Analyze market trends, sales data, and customer demand to determine product assortment and purchasing priorities.
• Source, evaluate, and maintain relationships with suppliers; request quotes and negotiate pricing and contract terms.
• Create and manage purchase orders, delivery schedules, and inventory replenishment plans to maintain optimal stock levels.
• Monitor supplier performance, delivery timelines, and product quality, and address discrepancies or shortages.
• Collaborate with merchandising, sales, and operations teams to align purchasing decisions with promotional plans and forecasts.
• Prepare regular reports and analyses on purchasing activities, cost savings, inventory turnover, and product performance.
