Job summary

ATB Financial in Alberta seeks a Relationship Manager to grow and retain a portfolio of business clients, including small business and agricultural accounts. You will proactively develop opportunities while maintaining strong client relationships and delivering financial guidance.

Reporting to the Director, you will manage a portfolio, meet growth targets, and collaborate with partners across ATB. The role supports a hybrid work model with on-site and virtual engagement.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in business, economics or related equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of commercial lending to SMEs.
• Proven ability to generate new business and meet targets.
• Experience analyzing financial data and structuring credit recommendations.
• Knowledge of drivers of business cash flow and cash flow management.
• Proven ability to build collaborative relationships virtually and in person.
• Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to evaluate new business opportunities.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with confident, tactful communication.
• Inquisitive approach to engaging with clients.
• Strong verbal and written communications and broad business knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Meet and exceed client needs by identifying products, services and opportunities to grow their business.
• Grow portfolio targets by expanding existing book and developing a pipeline of new loans and deposits.
• Refer clients to partners and translate ATB Business information for the branch team.
• Manage portfolio, renew expired credits, handle arrears and debt recovery as needed.
• Manage operational, regulatory & credit risk in line with ATB tolerances.
• Handle client inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.
• Participate in events promoting ATB Financial and community initiatives.
• Collaborate with clients virtually and in-person to build relationships in communities we serve.
