Job summary

Town of Taber is seeking a Procurement Specialist & Fleet Coordinator to support procurement, contract management and fleet services in municipal operations. The role reports to Corporate Services and collaborates with departments, vendors and public stakeholders.

The successful candidate will manage RFx processes, negotiate contracts, optimize cost savings, and oversee a fleet of ~70 vehicles with maintenance and disposal oversight. 37.5 hours/week, $33.11/hour plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree or diploma with procurement experience, or SCMP designation with 1+ year of procurement work.
• Experience with RFx development, bidding, negotiations and contract drafting.
• Knowledge of procurement regulations, trade agreements, and contracts.
• Excellent communication, time management and customer-service skills.
• Experience with fleet operations and asset management is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Conduct procurement activities in a fair, open, and transparent manner under applicable laws and Town policies.
• Deliver comprehensive procurement services across departments including RFx, evaluations, and contract administration.
• Develop sourcing strategies and oversee full procurement lifecycle with cross‑department collaboration.
• Manage contracts, leases, grants, and professional services agreements.
• Oversee a standardized fleet management program for ~70 vehicles and related services.
