Job summary

The Town of The Blue Mountains is seeking a Director of Operations to lead the Operations Department, guiding infrastructure planning, asset management, and service delivery for roads, water, wastewater, solid waste, and environmental initiatives.

The role requires strategic leadership, strong financial management, and collaboration with Council and senior staff to drive continuous improvement and ensure safe, reliable municipal services.

Qualifications

• University degree in Engineering, Public Administration, Business Administration, Environmental Studies, Infrastructure Management, or a related discipline.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or eligibility would be asset.
• Demonstrated experience managing capital and operating budgets, infrastructure portfolios, and multi-year capital planning programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and management of the Operations Department to align with the Town’s priorities.
• Oversee planning, design, construction, operation, maintenance, rehabilitation, and renewal of municipal infrastructure.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and funding strategies for operating and capital programs.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements and corporate policies.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support service delivery and community engagement.
