Job summary

The City of Barrie is seeking a senior leader to oversee the Infrastructure & Operations Division, guiding strategic, operational, and financial decisions. You will align resources with council priorities and advance long-term sustainability of city assets and services.

You will lead a diverse team, work with elected officials, and champion innovation, service excellence, and collaborative cross-divisional initiatives in a dynamic municipal environment.

Qualifications

• Ten years of senior management experience in municipal infrastructure or related executive portfolio.
• Experience working with elected officials and supervisory experience in a unionized environment.
• Strong business and financial acumen with strategic oversight capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic, operational, and financial oversight to the Infrastructure & Operations Division.
• Lead business and financial planning, ensuring alignment with Council’s direction.
• Oversee operational and capital investments and long-term sustainability of assets.
• Support department heads and champion service excellence and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate across the organization on cross-divisional initiatives.
