Job summary

BC Hydro in Burnaby, BC, seeks a senior Manager to lead the newly formed Business Planning & Regulatory Support team. You’ll drive strategy, governance, regulatory compliance, and performance reporting for Environment, overseeing PMO, asset management, and permitting functions.

You’ll mentor multidisciplinary teams, build cross‑functional partnerships, and align initiatives with corporate priorities, delivering strategic insights and risk guidance for executives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as engineering, business, environmental sciences, or related field.
  • 10 years of relevant experience incl. 8 years in progressively complex projects or programs with change and people impacts.
  • Experience with project, physical and operational asset, and contract management is an asset.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and staff development capabilities.
  • Proven strategy development and implementation experience with cross‑functional teams.
  • Demonstrated success in stakeholder relationships across executive to field operations.
  • Negotiation and conflict resolution experience with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to translate data into actionable insights, reporting, and decision support.
  • Excellent written, verbal, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Experience in regulated environments and environmental permitting is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct the Business Planning & Regulatory Support team and related PMO, asset management, permitting, and strategy functions.
  • Develop and implement governance processes, business plans, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee regulatory compliance, reporting, and performance monitoring.
  • Build cross‑functional collaboration with internal stakeholders and delivery partners.
  • Prepare strategic reports and briefing materials for senior leadership.
  • Provide leadership and coaching during organizational change and regulatory evolution.
  • Align environmental and governance initiatives with corporate objectives.
  • Maintain relationships with regulators and government agencies to advance objectives.
