Job summary

BC Hydro seeks a Program Manager (Strategic Energy Management) to lead DSM initiatives for industrial and large commercial customers. This permanent full-time role is based at Dunsmuir 05.

Requires a Bachelor's degree and 5–7 years in marketing or related fields, with strong analytical, budgeting and project management skills. CRM familiarity is a plus. Comprehensive benefits, vacation, and pension accompany the role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline (e.g., Business Administration).
  • 5–7 years of experience in marketing or related field, preferably in industrial/large commercial/energy efficiency environment.
  • Understanding of Energy Efficiency, Efficient Electrification, Capacity and Strategic Energy Management initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Strategic Energy Management Cohort offerings for industrial and large commercial customers.
  • Coordinate monthly program reviews, monitor KPIs, perform variance analysis and support forecasting.
  • Conduct ongoing strategic reviews of current programs and troubleshoot/process improvements.
  • Manage contracts with external service providers and customers and support knowledge transfer to team members.
  • Participate in special projects to support the Product Management Strategy.

  • The candidate will be responsible for leading Strategic Energy Management Cohort offerings for industrial and large commercial customers to support effective energy management initiatives.
  • The candidate will be responsible for supporting departmental business practices by coordinating monthly program reviews, monitoring KPIs, conducting variance analysis, supporting forecasting activities, and assisting with target setting.
  • The candidate will be responsible for conducting ongoing strategic reviews of current programs.
  • The candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting process issues, addressing operational challenges, and responding to program development needs to support effective program delivery.
  • The candidate will be responsible for managing program enhancement and process improvement projects to ensure successful delivery within established timelines and budgets.
  • The candidate will be responsible for continually evaluating Demand Side Management (DSM) best practices for industrial and commercial customers and incorporating relevant findings into existing programs.
  • The candidate will be responsible for managing contracts with external service providers and customers.
  • The candidate will be responsible for providing support and knowledge transfer to team members to strengthen team capabilities.
  • The candidate will be responsible for participating in special projects as required to support the overall Product Management Strategy.
Job Requirements
  • The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a relevant discipline, such as Business Administration.
  • The candidate must have five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in marketing or a related field, preferably within an industrial, large commercial, or energy efficiency environment.
  • The candidate must demonstrate an understanding of Energy Efficiency, Efficient Electrification, Capacity, and Strategic Energy Management initiatives and practices, including their integration into customer offerings.
  • The candidate must demonstrate the ability to gather information from diverse internal and external stakeholders, evaluate differing perspectives, synthesize findings, and develop well-supported plans that meet business requirements.
  • The candidate with familiarity using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems or tools will be considered an asset.
  • The candidate must demonstrate proven analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • The candidate must have experience with budget management, variance analysis, and risk assessments to support effective decision-making.
  • The candidate must have experience managing a high volume of concurrent projects while maintaining priorities, timelines, and deliverables.
  • The candidate must have experience developing and implementing significant program, process, and/or system changes.
  • The candidate must demonstrate a results-driven approach while recognizing the importance of collaboration and teamwork.
  • The candidate must demonstrate excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The candidate must demonstrate the ability to build influential relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
