Job summary

The University of British Columbia is seeking an HR Manager to lead day-to-day human resources operations for the Department of Family Practice within the Faculty of Medicine in Vancouver. You will provide expert HR guidance, ensure compliant service delivery, and support workforce planning in a complex, academic environment.

Reporting to the Director of Administration, you will work with FoM HR partners and central HR to interpret policies, employment legislation, and collective agreements,

Qualifications

• Experience in managing HR operations in a complex academic environment.
• Ability to provide expert HR guidance and escalate to leadership as needed.
• Strong knowledge of employment legislation, collective agreements, and university policies.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day human resources operations for the Department of Family Practice, ensuring compliant HR service delivery.
• Advise the Director, Administration and Department Head on complex HR matters and coordinate with FoM HR, Faculty Relations, and Central HR.
• Interpret and apply university policies and Employment Standards; support workforce planning and organizational change.
