Our client is seeking a new Human Resources Manager for their growing team- this is a newly created headcount due to ongoing business growth. The HR Mgr will be joining an overall HR function of over 60 people. The Manager and their HRBPs will be responsible for directly supporting approximately 1500 unionized employees (almost entirely based in BC) who are part of multiple unions (represented by 1 collective agreement). The HR Manager will lead the roll‑out of HR programs, oversee workforce planning & succession planning for their employee population, provide strategic HR consultancy & guidance to business leaders, and analyze & resolve complex HR issues. The HR Manager will get to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders and leaders across the organization. The company has an HR Centre of Excellence model, including Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Payroll, and Learning & Development. We are seeking candidates with at least 10 years and preferably 12+ years progressive experience in Human Resources, with 3+ years in people management and 3 years+ supporting employees in a unionized environment. Qualified candidates will have experience supporting large and diverse employee populations and will be skilled at leadership coaching. We are looking for folks who have excellent knowledge of BC and Canadian employment law. An eye for process improvements and a solutions-oriented mindset are very important in this role. A successful HR Manager at this company will be someone who embraces change, who approaches process improvements with a patient and collaborative attitude, and who loves contributing positively to a dynamic corporate culture.
Headquartered in Greater Vancouver (not in downtown Vancouver). 4 to 5 days a week on-site. Free on-site employee parking.
Base salary will be commensurate with years of labour relations and human resources work experience as well as relevant HR qualifications and education. The range on the base salary is $135,000 to ~$148,000, with the top-end reserved for candidates who meet all sought‑after qualifications and who have at least 12 years of relevant and progressive HR work experience. There is more room within the salary range for the HR Manager to grow into in future years.
