Job summary

Upstream Data Inc. is seeking a strategic Supply Chain Manager to design and oversee end-to-end supply chain operations from Calgary, Alberta.

You will integrate procurement, inventory management, and logistics to maximize efficiency and minimize total cost of ownership while ensuring 100% material availability for production. The role requires 8+ years in supply chain with 3+ in leadership, a Bachelor’s in SCM/BA/Engineering, and preferably SCMP designation.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive supply chain experience, including 3+ years in management within industrial, manufacturing, or energy sectors.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Admin, or Engineering.
• SCMP designation strongly preferred.
• ERP implementation or major system optimization project experience.
• Ability to translate complex financial data into concise executive presentations.
• Experience managing cross-border deliveries and minimizing total landed costs.
• Background in contract origination, legal review, and commercial negotiation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a long-term ERP roadmap for real-time data integrity and insights.
• Lead, mentor, and evaluate Purchasing and Inventory teams; set KPIs.
• Own procurement policies, authorization levels, and SOP development.
• Cultivate long-term partnerships with key manufacturers of electrical, mechanical, and structural components.
• Mitigate global supply risks through diversification and contingency planning.
• Negotiate MSAs and CAPEX terms for favorable commercial outcomes.
• Manage total annual procurement spend and drive cost-reduction initiatives.
• Balance JIT with JIC stock to optimize working capital.
• Oversee inbound/outbound logistics, including customs, brokerage, and freight management.
• Apply LEAN or Six Sigma to optimize warehouse and procurement workflows.
• Ensure compliance with internal audits, tax, and Alberta OHS standards.
