Job summary

BDO Canada LLP in Winnipeg, MB is seeking a Senior Manager to join the Financial Reporting & Insights team. You will lead client relationships, oversee financial reporting engagements, and coach staff while driving practice growth in a dynamic public accounting environment.

This role emphasizes ownership, technical expertise in private company reporting and tax, and collaboration with Partners to enhance client service and team development. A flexible hybrid work model is supported across Canada.

Qualifications

• Progressive public accounting experience with privately held or owner‑managed businesses.
• Experience leading engagements and managing client relationships from planning to completion.
• Strong accounting and financial reporting knowledge for private companies.
• Experience preparing and/or reviewing corporate tax returns is required.
• Ability to coach teams and manage workflow in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proficiency with Caseware and Excel; Sage/QuickBooks are assets.
• Commitment to ongoing learning and leadership development.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of a portfolio of client relationships and manage expectations and deadlines.
• Lead and oversee financial reporting engagements with timely, high‑quality deliverables.
• Review working papers, financial statements, and tax returns, providing guidance as needed.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and leadership to team members.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and staff assignments from planning through completion.
• Develop client relationships and identify opportunities to improve service delivery.
• Collaborate with Partners and senior leaders to support growth and operations of the practice.
