Job summary

Vaco by Highspring’s client is a high-growth software company seeking a Portfolio Controller in Canada to own the cash management process, maintain internal controls, and ensure clean audit outcomes while partnering with cross-functional teams to improve reporting quality.

Responsibilities include month-, quarter-, and year-end close, treasury activities, debt management, intercompany reconciliations, and IFRS accounting support.

Qualifications

• CPA/CA or equivalent certification required.
• SaaS/software company experience with multi-entity environments preferred.
• Minimum 5+ years progressive accounting experience.
• Strong IFRS knowledge.
• Ability to own full-cycle accounting and reporting and communicate conclusions clearly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review month-end, quarter-end and year-end close deliverables including cash flows and dividends.
• Lead treasury activities: monthly cash requirements, banking administration and cash visibility.
• Oversee debt management, working capital planning and dividend coordination.
• Coordinate transfer pricing and corporate tax support with external advisors as required.
• Provide leadership on IFRS 15, IFRS 16, IFRS 3 and other complex accounting matters.
• Lead intercompany reconciliations and intercompany recharge processes.
• Strengthen internal controls and identify financial risks to support clean audits.
• Support acquisitions through integration steps, revenue recognition checklists and PPA alignment.
• Manage and develop a small accounting team; partner with cross-functional leaders to drive improvements.
