Job summary

Aspire Software in Toronto and Montreal is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead period-end close, budgeting and statutory reporting across a growing portfolio. This role reports to the Director of Finance and collaborates with Portfolio Managers and Managing Directors to ensure accurate financial results.

The ideal candidate will drive process improvements, manage a team, and oversee internal controls, ERP systems (NetSuite preferred), and audits.

Qualifications

• Qualified financial accountant with degree in accounting/finance.
• 5+ years in a similar role with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Strong internal controls knowledge and risk management capabilities.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial consolidation.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead period-end close, budgeting and forecasting for portfolio companies.
• Coordinate statutory compliance and external reporting.
• Drive KPI reporting and financial analysis for senior management.
• Oversee monthly/quarterly/annual financial close and audits.
• Develop and implement financial processes and controls across entities.
• Collaborate with Portfolio Managers and Managing Directors.
