Job summary

Modern Construction, located on the outskirts of Moncton, NB, seeks a Financial Controller reporting to the CFO to prepare and report financial data in line with group fundamentals and regulatory requirements.

You will oversee accounting, payroll, AR/AP, budgeting, and year-end activities, ensuring deadlines and accuracy. The role offers a path to long-term career growth within VINCI Construction.

Qualifications

• University degree in accounting or finance; CPA designation would be an asset.
• 5+ years of accounting experience.
• Bilingual French and English.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Experience with SAP is an advantage.
• Strong budgeting and forecasting skills.
• Advisory and communication abilities to support operational teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management financial reports with variance analysis.
• Prepare quarterly budgets for each center of operations.
• Ensure accurate recording of revenues, expenses, accruals and adjustments.
• Monitor budgets, forecast cash needs, and flag overruns.
• Coordinate year-end audit activities with external accountants.
• Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
• Supervise payroll and maintain timely processing.
• Support management with special financial analyses.
• Assist with SAP implementation and system transition.
