Job summary

Ausenco is seeking a Director, Project Services to join the Minerals & Metals leadership team in North America. This role can be based in Toronto, Vancouver, or Calgary, overseeing project delivery, controls, and governance.

You will drive performance across a diversified project portfolio, mentor teams, and partner with Project Managers and VP-level stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes. The position emphasizes strategic execution, financial acumen, and talent development.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Mining, or similar).
• Extensive (15+ years) experience in engineering consulting, EPCM, or project delivery within Minerals & Metals or similar industry.
• Strong track record across project controls, including estimating, planning & scheduling, cost control, and project management.
• Experience leading large, complex projects through the full lifecycle, from studies to execution.
• Proven ability to lead and develop multidisciplinary teams across multiple locations and partner with Project Managers and senior stakeholders.
• Solid commercial and financial acumen, including forecasting, budgeting, and project governance.
• Demonstrated ability to drive consistency, improve delivery practices, and influence outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
• A collaborative, hands-on leader with strong communication skills and a focus on quality, people development, and results.

Responsibilities

• Drive project performance by monitoring and reporting on execution, ensuring alignment with regional priorities and strategic goals.
• Support accurate forecasting across project backlogs, estimates to complete, and the broader business development pipeline.
• Reviewing and approving key study capital expenditures in line with governance processes.
• Ensure consolidated cash flow forecasts are accurate and help drive strong DSO performance.
• Partner with Project Managers to navigate challenges and contribute to strategic pursuits and proposal development.
• Promote consistent, standardized project controls practices across regional offices.
• Mentor and develop your team, supporting broader people initiatives and attracting top talent.
