Canada Life is seeking a Director, Compliance to provide strategic leadership for regulatory compliance within Canada Operations and Corporate Functions. You will lead a team of professionals, deliver advisory services, oversee controls, and coordinate with global partners to ensure a strong culture of compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in compliance, risk management, governance, or regulatory oversight.
• University degree or equivalent in a related field as stated.
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks within regulated insurance environments.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead through change.
• Strong planning, prioritization and execution skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing compliance team across Canada Operations and Corporate Functions.
• Provide advisory services, oversight and effective challenge to regulatory requirements.
• Monitor regulatory developments and guide implementation of controls and policies.
• Coordinate with the GCC in Bengaluru for global regulatory alignment.
• Document and report remediation progress to senior leaders and partners.
• Engage with regulators and coordinate internal and external reviews.
• Foster a culture of compliance and risk-based decision making.
