Job summary

Canada Life is seeking a Director, Compliance to provide strategic leadership for the Canada Operations and Corporate Functions team. You will lead a team of professionals delivering advisory, oversight and challenge to regulatory compliance across diverse operations.

The role reports to the AVP, Central Business Risk & Controls, and may be located in Toronto, London, Montreal, or Winnipeg. You will build a high-performing culture and partner with leaders to ensure effective compliance and risk

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in compliance or risk management.
• University degree in business, law, finance, risk management, or related field.
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks in federally and provincially regulated insurance organizations.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead through change.
• Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead through change by setting priorities and building partnerships across a matrixed organization.
• Maintain effective compliance programs aligned with regulatory requirements.
• Monitor regulatory developments and guide controls and policies to maintain compliance.
• Provide advisory support to the Global Capabilities Centre (GCC) in Bengaluru on regulatory risks.
• Coach and develop a high-performing compliance team.
