Job summary

Wajax Corporation is seeking a buyer to maintain stock levels and optimize procurement in a dynamic industrial environment. You will apply purchasing policies to ensure inventory goals are met and identify opportunities to consolidate buying, reducing costs while maintaining supply reliability.

You will collaborate with suppliers, planners and warehouse teams to prevent disruptions, communicate delays, and report on KPI performance. This is a full-time role based in Canada.

Qualifications

• University degree or diploma in Business, Engineering or Operations, Logistics or Supply Chain.
• 3–5 years experience in Supply Chain or Operations procurement.
• Strong knowledge of inventory control and Integrated Supply Chain concepts.
• Proficient in Office apps; Excel expertise preferred; Access experience a bonus.
• Math reasoning and analytical capabilities essential.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and participate in Health and Safety programs to support safety initiatives.
• Adhere to Supply Chain purchasing policies, procedures and approvals.
• Place orders with suppliers for materials as needed.
• Identify supply issues and communicate with stakeholders promptly.
• Maintain supplier relationships and on-time delivery, update orders accordingly.
• Collaborate with warehouse staff and planners to resolve NCRs and stock variances.
• Track shipping details, delays and order status.
• Share best practices with buyers to improve processes.
• Identify gaps between replenishment goals and actuals, propose solutions.
• Process returns and follow end-to-end order workflow.
• Provide coverage for colleagues as required and assist forecasting.
• Process credit card payments per policy and generate KPI reports.
