Job summary

Wajax Corporation in Ottawa is seeking a Buyer/Procurement professional to manage stock levels and follow purchasing policies to ensure inventory goals are met. You will place orders with suppliers and monitor delivery to keep stock on track.

You will work with warehouse staff and planners to resolve NCRs, variances, and packing slips, and you will provide timely updates on order status with detailed Excel and PowerPoint reporting.

Qualifications

• University degree or diploma in Business, Engineering or Operations, Logistics or Supply Chain.
• 3-5 years experience in Supply Chain or Operations procurement environment required.
• Strong working knowledge of inventory control practices & processes and Integrated Supply Chain concepts.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and participate in Health and Safety programs designed to ensure our “Everyone Home Safe” initiatives are achieved.
• Adhere to Supply Chain purchasing policies, procedures and approval processes.
• Place orders with suppliers for materials as the organization requires.
• Communicate significant and/or potential supply issues on key products to the Purchasing Manager and planners.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and update orders accordingly.
• Work with warehouse staff, planners and Item Master to resolve NCRs, stock variances, and packing slips.
