Job summary

Wajax Corporation in Canada seeks a procurement professional to manage stock levels, follow purchasing policies, and identify opportunities to improve product flow while reducing acquisition costs. You will place supplier orders, monitor delivery, resolve issues with NCRs and variances, and work with warehouse staff and planners to ensure on‑time, accurate fulfillment.

Qualifications

• University degree or diploma in Business, Engineering or Operations, Logistics or Supply Chain.
• 3-5 years experience in Supply Chain or Operations procurement environment.
• Strong knowledge of inventory control practices and Integrated Supply Chain concepts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and PowerPoint; Microsoft Access.
• Lean and continuous improvement experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and participate in Health and Safety programs to meet Everyone Home Safe goals.
• Adhere to purchasing policies, procedures and approval processes.
• Place orders with suppliers for materials as required.
• Communicate significant supply issues to Purchasing Manager, planners, and data teams.
• Maintain supplier relationships to ensure on-time delivery.
• Coordinate with warehouse staff to resolve NCRs and stock variances.
• Track shipping details, delays and order status.
• Share best practices with fellow buyers to improve processes.
