Job summary

Canadian Base Operators Inc. is hiring a Storesperson for the Army Training Centre - Central in Meaford, Ontario. You will receive and issue clothing and equipment, perform stock checks, and support inventory control in a main warehouse environment.

Preferred candidates hold a high school diploma and have knowledge of SAP, forklift operation, and related equipment. A valid security clearance will be required for this position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of DND policies considered an asset.
• 2+ years experience with SAP, forklift, pallets, carts, or 3 ton truck is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Receive items per SOPs and ensure adequacy.
• Pick items to issue and notify customers; liaise with Inventory Control.
• Review stock inventory and quality; issue stock that is serviceable.
• Process receipts, exchanges, returns; handle customer requests.
• Assist customers with loading bulky stock; follow safety rules.
• Perform other duties as required and adhere to health and safety standards.

The Storesperson position is located in Meaford at the Army Training Centre - Central and typically reports directly to the Stores Supervisor. The primary duties of a Storesperson are to work in the main warehouse securing and accounting for various items of clothing and equipment; including issuing and exchanging items and completing stock checks and counts.

COMPENSATION, BENEFITS, AND PERKS

• Hourly wage - $20.00 - $22.79
• Regular daytime hours, Monday - Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receiving as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); ensuring items are adequate

• Pick items to be issued, transmit issues, notifying customers and liaison with Inventory Control
• Review stock inventory and quality
• Issue clean and serviceable stock
• Respond to customer requests
• Assist customer with the loading of bulky stock
• Process receipts, exchanges, returns
• Accept stock returned; confirming serviceability of items or initiating repairs
• Perform other duties as required
• Follows all Health and Safety requirements including wearing all mandatory personal protective equipment and participating the any Health and Safety training that is required

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

2 or more years' experience in the following would be considered an asset:

• SAP experience
• Forklift operation
• Pallet jackets
• Carts
• 3 ton truck

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Proficient knowledge and understanding of:
• Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Teams
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and with minimal direction
• Must possess serviceable steel toe safety boots that meet standards for workplace safety

*Must be able to achieve and maintain a Government of Canada Security Clearance*

*Must be able to achieve and maintain a Government of Canada Security Clearance- continuous residency in Canada for the last 10 years is a mandatory requirement.*

To obtain a Secret Security Clearance from the Government of Canada, applicants must undergo a comprehensive 10-year background check. Applicants will be required to provide detailed information covering the past 10 years, including employment, education, and residency history. For this reason, continuous residency in Canada for the last 10 years is a mandatory requirement.
