Job summary

American Iron & Metal (AIM) in Hamilton, Ontario, is hiring for a warehouse inventory position. You will receive materials, verify and enter data, organize storage, manage inventory with WMS, and prepare orders for shipment.

The role requires accuracy, reliability, and teamwork to support internal customers. We offer an hourly wage of CAD 25.75 plus a competitive benefits package, RRSP matching, and an annual tuition scholarship up to CAD 8,500 for eligible dependents.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or vocational diploma.
  • Experience in a warehouse, inventory, mechanical or supply chain environment preferred.
  • Forklift certification is an asset but not required.
  • Good knowledge of inventory software and basic computer skills.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand long periods.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, verify materials, and enter data into our systems.
  • Organize and store items in designated areas with proper labeling.
  • Maintain inventory records using manual systems or a WMS.
  • Receive requests at the counter and provide excellent service to internal customers.
  • Prepare orders for shipment according to schedules.
  • Monitor inventory levels with manual counts.
  • Keep the warehouse clean, tidy, and safe.
  • Participate in periodic audits and inventory reporting.

Job Description

What you will be responsible for:

  • Receive, verify materials, and enter the necessary data into our systems
  • Organize and store items in designated areas, ensuring proper labeling and categorization using equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.) as needed
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using manual systems or a warehouse management system (WMS)
  • Receive requests at the counter while providing excellent service to our internal customers
  • Remove items from inventory, package them, and prepare orders for shipment according to sales and distribution schedules
  • Monitor inventory levels by performing manual counts
  • Ensure the warehouse is clean, tidy, and safe
  • Participate in periodic audits and the production of inventory reports.
Qualifications

  • You have experience in a warehouse, inventory, mechanical or supply chain environment, preferably.
  • You have a high school diploma or a vocational diploma in a relevant field.
  • You have a good knowledge of inventory software and basic computer skills.
  • You are detail-oriented, thorough, and well-organized.
  • You are able to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand for long periods of time.
  • You have good communication and teamwork skills.
  • You have a forklift certification (an asset but not required).
