Job summary

Vast Auto Distribution, a Fortune 300 company family, is seeking a Store Manager to lead a busy automotive parts team in Eastern Canada. You will drive sales, coach staff, and ensure service excellence for walk-in customers while aligning with company policies and pricing strategies.

The role emphasizes people leadership, process discipline, and collaboration with other departments to sustain profitability and service quality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Minimum 3 years of automotive industry experience.
• Experience in staff and asset management.
• Bilingualism: English (verbal and written) required.

Responsibilities

• Maximize sales by directing team members to provide prompt, courteous service.
• Solicit orders and represent company policies while selling products.
• Supervise the work of all team members.
• Assist District Manager in recruiting, hiring, evaluating, promoting, disciplining and terminating staff under supervision.
• Collaborate with Sales and Pricing to set appropriate pricing for installers and walk-in customers.
• Schedule staffing to ensure optimal customer service and profitability.
• Provide training and complete performance evaluations for team members.

It is part of O’Reilly Auto Parts that operates more than 6,000 stores, with more than 92,000 team members across the USA, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Canada under the Parts City Auto Parts and O’Reilly Auto Parts banners.

Main Responsibilities

• Maximize sales by directing team members, including Parts Specialists, in a manner that provides walk-in customers with prompt, courteous, and professional service.
• Solicit orders, sell company products, and represent the company in accordance with company policies.
• Keeping existing customers, increase sales volume within assigned accounts, assess customer needs to gain market share, and solicit stocking programs, daily requirements, and equipment sales.
• Supervise the work performed by all team members.
• Work collaboratively with the District Manager in recruiting, hiring, evaluating, promoting, disciplining, and terminating team members under his/her supervision.
• Partner with the Sales and Pricing Departments to establish appropriate pricing levels for installers and walk-in customers.
• Maximize gross profit on outside purchases.
• Monitor noncompetitive price overrides and price matches to ensure policy compliance and overall profitability.
• Schedule appropriate staffing levels to ensure optimal customer service and profitability.
• Review and approve team members’ hours daily.
• Work directly with the assistant management team to ensure all team members receive proper training in all areas.
• Complete team member performance evaluations.
• Ensure the store is organized and operating in accordance with all company policies and procedures.
• Communicate consistently via email, notes, worksheets, and other tools to support efficient operations.
• Provide the Inventory Control Department with accurate and timely stock adjustment reports.
• Implement all planogram changes and merchandising plans as outlined on the To-Do List.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the automotive industry
• Experience in staff and asset management
• Mandatory bilingualism: excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office application
