Job summary

Accorhotel Vancouver is seeking a Stewarding Supervisor to oversee daily stewarding operations, ensuring cleanliness and safety across kitchens, restaurants, and banquet areas. You will lead a diverse team, coordinate coverage, and mentor staff to uphold high standards in a luxury hotel setting.

The role requires supervisory experience in stewarding or kitchen operations, strong sanitation knowledge, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

  • Experience supervising stewarding or kitchen operations preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of sanitation, hygiene and safety standards.
  • Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily stewarding operations including dishwashing, pot washing, and waste management.
  • Ensure kitchens, restaurants, banquet areas and back-of-house spaces are clean, organized and sanitized.
  • Coordinate stewarding coverage based on business level and needs.
  • Maintain compliance with health regulations, WHMIS and workplace safety standards.
  • Lead, train and motivate the stewarding team; onboard new colleagues.
  • Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; report maintenance issues.

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Chief Steward, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:



  • Supervise daily stewarding operations, including dishwashing, pot washing, kitchen cleaning, and waste management

  • Ensure all kitchens, restaurants, banquet areas, and back-of-house spaces are clean, organized, and sanitized at all times

  • Coordinate stewarding coverage based on business levels and operational needs

  • Ensure compliance with local health regulations, WHMIS, and workplace safety standards

  • Maintain proper use, handling, and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment

  • Support food safety standards, including HACCP guidelines

  • Conduct regular inspections and follow up on corrective actions

  • Lead, train, and motivate the Stewarding team, fostering a positive and respectful work environment

  • Ensure new colleagues receive proper onboarding and training

  • Monitor performance, provide coaching, and support development of team members

  • Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment

  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of dishwashing machines and other stewarding equipment

  • Report maintenance issues and coordinate repairs as needed

  • Work closely with Culinary, Banquets, and Food & Beverage teams to support smooth operations

  • Communicate effectively with leaders to anticipate needs for events, banquets, and high-volume periods

  • Other duties as assigned


Your experience and skills include:


  • Previous experience in stewarding or kitchen operations, with supervisory experience preferred

  • Strong knowledge of sanitation, hygiene, and safety standards

  • Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

  • Good communication and organizational skills

  • Physically able to stand for long periods and lift heavy items as required

  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

  • Fast-paced environment requiring attention to detail and teamwork


Your team and working environment:

You will be part of the Stewarding and Culinary Operations team, working closely with Chefs, Food & Beverage leaders, and Banquets to support the hotel's daily operations and special events. As a Stewarding Supervisor, you will lead a diverse and hardworking team of stewards, playing a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient back-of-house environment. Your leadership and collaboration will directly support the success of our kitchens and the overall guest experience.
