Job summary

Gray Collection in Ottawa, Ontario is seeking a Kitchen Steward/Dish to support kitchen and service staff by washing dishes, glassware, flatware, pots and pans and maintaining a clean workstation. You will safely use dishwashing equipment, handle cleaning chemicals, work with the team, and contribute to the overall cleanliness of the kitchen and service areas, including disposal of trash and recycling.

Shifts include mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays, and the role requires standing for

Qualifications

• Must be available to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues.
• Able to stand for extended periods (8 hours) and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Understanding of kitchen operations, health and safety rules.
• Ability to work in a team environment and independently.

Job description

The Kitchen Steward’s/Dish position is called upon to support the kitchen and service staff by cleaning dishes, silverware and any other implements used in the process of creating and serving dishes to the clientele. They are also responsible to ensure cleanliness of his station and of the kitchens.
