Job summary

Oaklands Dental in Victoria, BC is seeking a Sterilization Assistant to join our patient-focused team. You will clean, package, sterilize, and store dental instruments, monitor equipment, and maintain accurate records to support compliance and audit readiness.

Qualifications

• Previous clinical experience working in sterilization role is an asset.
• Completion of an accredited Dental Assisting and/or Medical Device Reprocessing Technician (MDRT) programs is preferred.
• Experience with IPAC (Infection Prevention and Control) is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Clean, package, sterilize, and store dental instruments in compliance with IPAC standards and provincial regulations.
• Operate and monitor sterilization equipment, completing required testing and documentation.
• Maintain accurate records to support compliance and audit readiness.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and organized reprocessing area following health and safety protocols.
• Identify and report equipment or sterilization issues promptly.
• Collaborate with the clinical team to support efficient patient flow.
• Prepare and maintain treatment rooms between patients, supporting an efficient, organized, and positive patient experience.
