Job summary

River Oaks Dental in Oakville, Ontario, is seeking a Sterilization Assistant to maintain instrument processing, ensure IPAC standards, and support our clinical team in a busy dental practice.

The role is a replacement position with competitive pay. Wage ranges between $22.00 and $24.00 per hour, with Monday to Thursday hours from 8:45 am to 5:15 pm, reflecting our commitment to patient care and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Must have sterilization experience.
• Completion of an accredited Dental Assisting or MDRT program preferred.
• Experience with IPAC is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Clean, package, sterilize, and store dental instruments in IPAC-compliant procedures.
• Operate and monitor sterilization equipment, and complete required testing.
• Maintain accurate records to support compliance and audit readiness.
• Ensure a clean, safe reprocessing area following health and safety protocols.
• Identify and report equipment or sterilization issues promptly.
• Collaborate with the clinical team to support efficient patient flow.

The wage for this Sterilization Assistant position is $22.00 - $24.00 /hour depending on skills, experience, and location.

Your Role:

• Clean, package, sterilize, and store dental instruments in compliance with IPAC standards and provincial regulations


• Operate and monitor sterilization equipment, completing required testing and documentation


• Maintain accurate records to support compliance and audit readiness


• Ensure a clean, safe, and organized reprocessing area following health and safety protocols


• Identify and report equipment or sterilization issues promptly


• Collaborate with the clinical team to support efficient patient flow

About You:

• Previous clinical experience working in s terilization role is considered an asset


• Completion of an accredited Dental Assisting and/or Medical Device Reprocessing Technician (MDRT) Programs is preferred


• Experience with IPAC (Infection Prevention and Control) is an asset
