Job summary

Dawson Dental Hanover, part of dentalcorp, is seeking a Sterilization Assistant to support our clinical team. You will sterilize, package and store instruments, operate IPAC-compliant equipment, and maintain accurate records for audit readiness.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Dental Assisting program is preferred.
• Experience with IPAC (Infection Prevention and Control) is an asset.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment with attention to safety.

Responsibilities

• Clean, package, sterilize, and store dental instruments following IPAC standards.
• Operate and monitor sterilization equipment and perform required testing.
• Maintain accurate records to support compliance and audits.
• Ensure a clean, safe reprocessing area in accordance with health protocols.
• Identify and report equipment or sterilization issues promptly.
• Collaborate with the clinical team to support efficient patient flow.

The wage for this Sterilization Assistant position is $X-$X /hour depending on skills, experience, and location.

Your Role:

• Clean, package, sterilize, and store dental instruments in compliance with IPAC standards and provincial regulations
• Operate and monitor sterilization equipment, completing required testing and documentation
• Maintain accurate records to support compliance and audit readiness
• Ensure a clean, safe, and organized reprocessing area following health and safety protocols
• Identify and report equipment or sterilization issues promptly
• Collaborate with the clinical team to support efficient patient flow

About You:

• Previous clinical experience working in s terilization role is considered an asset
• Completion of an accredited Dental Assisting and/or Medical Device Reprocessing Technician (MDRT) Programs is preferred
• Experience with IPAC (Infection Prevention and Control) is an asset
