Job summary

Dawson Dental Hanover is seeking a Sterilization Assistant to maintain infection control standards and reprocess instruments in a compliant environment.

The role requires handling sterilization equipment, documenting tests, and supporting the clinical team to facilitate smooth patient flow. Prior sterilization or dental assisting experience is preferred, with IPAC knowledge as a plus.

Qualifications

• Previous clinical experience in sterilization is an asset.
• Completion of an accredited Dental Assisting and/or MDRT program is preferred.
• IPAC experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Clean, package, sterilize, and store dental instruments in IPAC compliant manner.
• Operate and monitor sterilization equipment, with required testing and documentation.
• Maintain accurate records to support compliance and audit readiness.
• Ensure a clean, safe reprocessing area following health and safety protocols.
• Identify and report equipment or sterilization issues promptly.
• Collaborate with the clinical team to support efficient patient flow.

• The wage for this Sterilization Assistant position is $X-$X/hour depending on skills, experience, and location.

Your Role

• Clean, package, sterilize, and store dental instruments in compliance with IPAC standards and provincial regulations
• Operate and monitor sterilization equipment, completing required testing and documentation
• Maintain accurate records to support compliance and audit readiness
• Ensure a clean, safe, and organized reprocessing area following health and safety protocols
• Identify and report equipment or sterilization issues promptly
• Collaborate with the clinical team to support efficient patient flow

About You

• Previous clinical experience working in sterilization role is considered an asset
• Completion of an accredited Dental Assisting and/or Medical Device Reprocessing Technician (MDRT) Programs is preferred
• Experience with IPAC (Infection Prevention and Control) is an asset
