The Opportunity:
Solvest is on the hunt for a dynamic and dedicated Training and Development Specialist to join our team!
As a Training and Development Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in enhancing the skills and capabilities of our workforce. You'll design, implement, and evaluate training programs that align with our organizational goals and support employee growth and development. Reporting to the Director of People and Culture, you'll collaborate with various departments to identify training needs and deliver impactful learning experiences.
This is an office-based position that will require the successful candidate to work from our head office located in Whitehorse, Yukon.
Employment Status: Permanent Full Time – 36 hours per week during the 4-day work week pilot
Wage Range: $41 - $45 per hour + annual profit-sharing bonus based on company performance.
Leave Entitlement: Three weeks of paid vacation to start + 4 paid sick days per year.

Job Description:
● Develop, coordinate, and oversee professional learning programs using a variety of modalities (recorded or live webinars, e-learning, group sessions, or 1-on-1 training) in alignment with company goals and initiatives.
● Develop the onboarding new hires program, from beginning to end, including needs analysis, program design, content integration, learning delivery, communication and coordination; building agendas; reviewing program flow; analyzing program feedback, measuring effectiveness, and project management.
● Develop the curriculum to incorporate learning and education on the evolving tools and technology used in client delivery and internal business deliverables (e.g. Analytics, AI, and sophisticated business models)
● Design and implement workforce initiatives tailored to scaling operations in current and new markets, with a focus on agility, efficiency, and alignment to business objectives.
● Identify opportunities for teams to participate in external events, webinars, and conferences that complement core training.
● Incorporate diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging concepts into training design, and reinforces during delivery.
● Explore leading edge content and design/delivery concepts to provide innovative high-quality, cost-effective skills building.
● Promote and market learning programs via multiple communication channels highlighting learning outcomes and encouraging enrollments.
● Manage stakeholder communication, establish rapport, build departmental relationships, and generate shared clarity of developmental needs.
● Work with individual departments to align professional development budgets to the overall training budget for the company.
Required Skills/Qualification:
● Bachelor's degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Learning & Education would be considered an asset.
● 5+ years experience developing and managing training programs in various styles and types.
● Excellent time management and project management skills, balancing multiple projects at a time
● Experience managing a divisional budget.
● Strong facilitation, communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills as well as strong writing skills.
● Outstanding interpersonal skills. Ability to build effective business relationships at all levels across the organization as well as outside of the organization.
● Experience in driving business transformation and managing organizational change effectively
● Knowledge of training and development principles and practices
● Experience in learning needs analysis and instructional design
● Proficiency with online learning development tools
● Visual design skills and the ability to create storyboards
● Growth mindset and a desire to contribute.
● Well versed with technology and platforms such as Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
● Enthusiastic towards the environment, green energy, and the position.

● Valid drivers license with no major infractions in the last 3 years.
