Join the Data Intelligence team at Achievers, where we are building analytics and reporting solutions that help clients unlock meaningful insights, measure program outcomes, and understand the impact of the Achievers platform within their own businesses. You'll work with modern microservices, cloud technologies, distributed systems, APIs, event-driven architectures, and integration analytics tools while solving complex scalability and reliability challenges. As a Staff Engineer, you'll help shape the technical direction of the platform, lead complex system initiatives, and play a key role in evolving our architecture, engineering practices, and data strategy.

  • Lead high-impact initiatives that shape how millions of people experience work around the world.
  • Bring your unique perspective to complex and challenging projects - apply your expertise in architecture, influence technical direction, and mentor fellow team members.
  • Join a close-knit, no-ego, high-performing team that solves meaningful problems and celebrates successes together.
  • Work alongside an experienced leadership team who is genuinely invested in your career growth.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where innovation is encouraged and your voice truly matters.
  • Design, build, and evolve analytics, reporting, and AI-driven data intelligence capabilities that enhance the Achievers platform, architecting high-performance, highly available, and secure solutions that scale to support complex reporting and large-scale analytics workloads across millions of users.

  • Champion AI-enabled software development practices, leveraging structured knowledge bases, AI-assisted development tools, and Agentic workflows to improve developer productivity, code quality, and system design consistency.

  • Mentor and guide engineers across varying experience levels, providing technical leadership, promoting engineering best practices, fostering a culture of continuous learning, and helping team members grow through coaching, knowledge sharing, and constructive feedback

  • Work closely with the product manager, designer, and other engineering teams to define requirements, ensure architectural alignment, and translate them into technical solutions. Actively participate in cross-functional planning sessions to align on priorities, dependencies, and long-term platform direction.

  • Take end-to-end ownership of critical services and initiatives, driving design, implementation, deployment, and operational excellence while ensuring solutions are scalable, reliable, secure, and maintainable

  • Drive technical solutions using modern technologies including Python, Go, Kubernetes, Docker, GCP, GraphQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Cloud Data Warehouses and React, making architectural decisions that balance scalability, reliability, maintainability, and delivery velocity

  • Monitor application performance and optimize code to ensure it meets scaling, performance, and security requirements as the product grows.

  • Continuously learn and stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and software engineering practices to bring fresh perspectives and ideas to the team.

  • Bachelor’s or master’s in computer science or related field.
  • 9+ years of professional software development experience, with a demonstrated track record of leading the design and delivery of complex software systems
  • Experience working in Agile development environments and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Deep experience designing, building, and operating distributed systems and microservice-based architectures at scale.
  • Proven ability to drive architectural decisions, influence technical direction, and lead engineering initiatives across teams.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, cloud-native technologies, and public cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Expert-level proficiency in Python, Go, or similar modern programming languages.
  • Experience designing and implementing validation frameworks, automated testing strategies, and data quality controls that ensure both software correctness and the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data products/services.
  • Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools, knowledge-driven engineering practices, and modern software delivery methodologies to improve productivity and software quality is considered a strong asset.
