Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC in Canada seeks a Staff Software Engineer to own the platformization roadmap for shared services, architecting a plan to decouple existing functionality into highly reusable services.

Your work will improve the company's developer experience, productivity, security and scalability, and you will report to the Senior Director of Platform Engineering with potential base in Vancouver or Kitchener.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent.
• Strong experience with distributed systems and backend architecture.
• Proven ability to mentor engineers and lead teams in agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Define a 1–3 year roadmap for Shared Services platformization.
• Write architectural design documents for complex systems.
• Drive delivery milestones and ensure high-quality releases.
• Develop well-tested features with robust test hooks.
• Present demos and explain how features fit the bigger picture.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure architectural alignment.
