Job summary

Doist in Vancouver, BC, is seeking a Senior DevOps Developer to support the development organization in delivering reliable, efficient, and secure software.

You will work in the Backend Platform team using Go, Scala, and PHP, with Kafka and AWS, building tools and services for product teams and modernizing the platform. This role involves mentoring, on-call work, and shaping best practices across the department.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in an SRE, DevOps or software engineering role with a track record of substantial contributions to high‑impact projects.
  • Experience in backend development and DevOps, ideally creating tools and services for other developers.
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, and pairing with coworkers.
  • Experience writing clean, scalable code and understanding SaaS software development practices; ideally on a SaaS product.
  • Experience using infrastructure‑as‑code tools to build and run cloud infrastructure.
  • Optional: Experience operating, building, and maintaining cloud infrastructure; knowledge of Linux systems administration including troubleshooting system‑level issues, networking (L3‑L7), and basic monitoring.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork, prioritizing group needs over individual.
  • Creativity and innovation, seeking better ways, generating imaginative ideas, products, and solutions.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

We’re looking for a Senior DevOps Developer who can help support the development organization to deliver value to customers in a reliable, efficient, and safe manner. You’ll be working in a focused team that owns one or more pieces of the production application environment and the developer experience, delivering in service of quarterly goals on the team.

ABOUT THE TEAM

This role is within our Backend Platform team. The team primarily uses Go, Scala, and PHP and has expertise in technologies such as Kafka, various AWS services, and some infrastructure‑as‑code tools. Your primary focus will be on developing services and tools for our product development teams as well as modernizing our existing platform. Based out of British Columbia, you will report to the Senior Manager, Software Development, DevOps.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

PAY RANGE

Canada: $115,400 — $161,600 CAD.
