Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Sr. System Administrator for the Data Centers team. The role focuses on reliability, scalability, and operational excellence across global server fleets, with automation, observability, and performance at the core.

The position reports to the Engineering Manager, Data Centers and Networking, and is based in Vancouver, Canada, with flexibility to collaborate across time zones. Travel to on-site data centers may be required.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in systems engineering and infrastructure operations.
• Advanced Linux administration in on-prem and cloud environments.
• Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls).
• Hands-on data center setup, racking, cabling, and remote management.
• Experience with AWS and/or GCP in hybrid deployments.
• 5+ years in senior or lead roles driving cross-team initiatives.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Scout, evaluate, and compare hardware options and colocation facilities with Engineering.
• Design and deploy a cloud expansion strategy across providers and regions.
• Lead capacity planning and expansion/upgrade strategy with data-driven insights.
• Deploy servers at scale in data centers worldwide with automation.
• Develop and maintain automation for a large fleet of servers, VMs, and containers.
• Collaborate with Security on hardening, compliance, and intrusion detection.
