Job summary

Burns & McDonnell Canada seeks a Staff Mechanical Engineer to design and execute mechanical systems for building and industrial projects across Canada. You will work with multidisciplinary teams on HVAC, plumbing, and utility systems from concept to startup, contributing to project objectives, schedules, and budgets.

The role emphasizes P.Eng preference in Ontario, strong communication, and collaboration with clients and engineers to deliver high-quality solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3 years of mechanical engineering experience.
• FE exam completion with 3 years of mechanical engineering experience preferred.
• Master degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2 years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support mechanical system design from conceptual development through construction completion.
• Perform HVAC, plumbing, and utility system design for facilities and renovations.
• Develop engineering deliverables: HVAC zoning plans, piping layouts, P&IDs, and equipment schedules.
• Coordinate with architects, structural, electrical, and controls engineers.
• Review vendor submittals, shop drawings, and technical documentation.
• Support QA/QC reviews and compliance with codes and standards.
