Job summary

Qualcomm Canada ULC in Toronto seeks a Staff DSP Systems Engineer to join the High‑Speed SerDes DSP group responsible for DSP architectures and models powering PCIe, 112G, and 224G SerDes solutions used in data centers.

You will work with RTL, Firmware, DV, and Post‑Silicon teams to develop algorithms, MATLAB/Python models, and diagnostic tools, with growth toward ownership across DSP subsystems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field with proven Systems Engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in MATLAB, Python, and C/C++ with embedded firmware experience preferred.
• Solid RTL and digital design fundamentals and ability to drive simulations and code reviews.
• Experience with DSP-based SerDes architectures such as PCIe/112G/224G is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design and refine high‑speed DSP SerDes features and architectures with RTL/Firmware teams.
• Develop MATLAB models for RTL verification, pre-silicon estimates, and post-silicon correlation.
• Analyze DSP algorithms for power, performance and area trade‑offs across equalization and transmission chains.
• Create DSP diagnostic tools and metrics (BER, SNR, jitter) to drive improvements.
• Provide operation theory, pseudocode, and documentation to support bring‑up and testing.
