Job summary

Qualcomm Canada ULC is seeking a Staff Hardware Design Engineer to join the Application Engineering team, supporting 100G/200G/400G PAM4 systems for Optical DSP and transceiver platforms. You will design, validate, and bring up evaluation platforms, collaborate with hardware and application teams, and drive high-speed signal integrity and power integrity across complex boards.

Bachelor's degree with 4+ years hardware engineering experience
Master's degree with 3+ years hardware engineering experience
PhD with 2+ years hardware engineering experience

Responsibilities

Lead EVB development projects from specification through validation.
Create hardware specs, schematics, PCB layout requirements, and validation plans.
Lead hardware bring-up and debugging for application engineering platforms.
Act as hardware expert supporting internal teams and customers.
Drive SI/PI analysis to support product deployment.
Serve as primary hardware liaison for application engineering activities.
Lead first-power-on and bring-up activities.
Perform root-cause analysis and corrective actions for hardware issues.
Support system characterization and reliability testing.
Review customer schematics and PCB layouts; assist in resolving hardware issues.
Work with customer hardware teams during bring-up and qualification.
