Job summary

Sonatype is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the Data Identity team, the upstream data platform powering downstream products. You will shape architectural direction, own the identity data model, and partner with product on multi-quarter bets.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 3+ years at Staff level or equivalent.
Strong experience with data-platform engineering at scale and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

Own the identity data model and coordinate schemas across ecosystems.
Architect streaming and batch pipelines using Java, Spark/EMR, and AWS.
Design data contracts for downstream teams and manage versioning.
Lead vendor ingestion for SBOM feeds and external collaborations.
Apply AI/ML concepts to improve data quality and deduplication within data pipelines.
Collaborate with AI-assisted tooling and evolve tooling usage for productivity.
Improve reliability through SRE practices, SLOs, and incident response leadership.
